Chapter 10: Night of the First day - 52 hours remain

When you had already went the temple like a maze trough at least once, the way back to the main room, where the flower and the unlit torch were was a way easier. That was totally fine with the boy and the fairy, since they had already spent eight hours of their very tightly limited time. Only four hour for the sunrise and the second day. And they still hadn't met even the first one of the Four, who could hopefully stop that little imp, the Skull Kid.
Always fearless Hylian had now finally reached the main room in the centre of the whole temple. The big flower surrounded by poisonous water was still there and the torch in its middle.
The torch, that would maybe open the way forward.
Link looked at the lit torch in front of him. He'd only need to shoot an arrow trough its flame and lit the one on the flower. The boy set an arrow on the string of the boy like he had grown doing it and aimed closely. He had more arrows, but they didn't just appear from a bush and Link didn't want to waste them.
"Seesh! We don't have the whole da- ... Night time! Shoot already!" shouted out the yellow colored fairy, whose existence Link had totally forgot for a while. Link fired the arrow and for their luck it hit and lit the torch. If Link would have been anymore chatty, he would have mentioned he almost missed because of the fairy, but decided to say nothing.
The ground rumbled and the flower in the centre started to spin. First slowly, but clearly picking up some speed.
"Hey! Look!" gasped Tatl and Link turned his sight down, where the fairy was obviously looking. The boy let out a gasp. While the flower was spinning, the water was losing its purple color. It was no more poisonous. Link, neither Tatl didn't know why was it, but all the same it was a good thing.
Link thought the flower would stop spinning in a time, but it actually didn't. It wasn't picking up speed anymore. Seemed like it wasn't spinning too fast.
Tatl and Link were both confused. And what now? What was the point of this? How would a spinning flower help them to get trough the temple?
But thanks for Tatl, the question soon got an answer.
"How can I be so stupid...!?" The fairy mumbled to itself and flew to the other side of the room, where you could see a door.
Oh wait...
A door? Had it been there all the time? How they couldn't notice it earlier!? Then Link realized it was because of the light of the room. Before this, the room had been dark and they couldn't see in the other side.
"C'mon!" Tatl nagged like she always did. You didn't have to tell that to Link twice. The boy jumped on the huge flower, which seemed after all made of wood. Link let it spin half round so he could jump off in the other side to reach the door.
The door was like any door in the temple. Made of wood with some painted symbols in it. But it would be a way forward. So the boy opened the door and stepped on the way ahead.
The room behind the door was nothing they had expected. It was really huge and dark. You couldn't see its ceiling. The room was round and there wasn't another door.
"Why does it always had to be this hard...?" The boy mumbled quietly like he'd knew what was coming up and took his sword and shield. Tatl turned to see the boy.
"What did you say?"
Then out of thin air suddenly in the middle of the room appeared huge, human looking red skinned warrior. Its body was covered with different symbols and marks, but the thing that worried Link more was the huge sword he was carrying. It was bigger than the boy himself... But for the warrior, it was just a perfect sized sword.
There was another thing in the warrior that caught your attention. Its face. Or actually that you couldn't see them. It was wearing a mask, you see. A mask, which looked like it was staring at you and thinking how it would kill you very nicely. Should I cut or squish today?
Tatl let out a worried gasp. "Th-That's Odolwa! The God of the Woodfall..." the fairy's voice getting quiet while spelling the last words. But it didn't sound actually afraid. "Wow... I never thought it would be this... Big..."
Link rolled his eyes. Odolwa's size hadn't actually surprised him. Gohma, Dodongo, Morpha, Volvagia... They were other monsters Link had met in other temples. They weren't "Gods" or anything, but actually beside them, this "God" seemed a little pathetic.
"Look out!!" Tatl warned just in time so Link was able to dodge Odolwa's huge sword.
Fine. Not that pathetic.
The god didn't seem to like the visitors in his temple and the sword seemed to be a little bit sharper than Link had originally thought. It walked towards the boy swinging his sword like crazy. It was such a pain to even dodge his attacks.
Tatl seemed to know something about Odolwa, so Link decided it would be time for her to help him a little bit.
"Does it have any weakness?" He asked and dodged again. Somewhere inside his mind the boy was smiling. This reminded him of the time with Navi. The time with the fairy Link had originally left to search for. Tatl snorted.
"Actually, that's all he has", and against all safety stayed close to the god, so the boy would see it even in the dark.
That's all he has, eh? If that was true, sounded like even just a single hit with Link's sword could cause damage to the warrior. When Odolwa next time attacked Link dodged, but attacked right when he was back onto his feet. Odolwa let out a sound, that reminded a hurt animal. Unfortunately the would wouldn't even slow the god. Link made a little calculations in his head. This would be a long battle. Really long.
Unfortunately Link was correct. Link and Odolwa had already fought for an hour and both were damaged and not doing very well. But the god wasn't as exhausted as the young boy who was getting always more slower and slower. Also dodging the attacks was much harder now.
Odolwa swung his sword again and Link blocked the attack with his shield, since he wasn't able to dodge this one. But there was so much power in that hit Link smashed on the wall of the room.
"Link!" the fairy cried out, but stayed near Odolwa. "Hey, are you fine?"
Link stood up and coughed.
"Yeah..." he answered, but you could see with a single sight he was lying. The boy took a sight above himself to the god, who was pretty much the one on the winning side of the battle. How long he had fought already...?
While looking at the god prepared to his next attack Link first time felt the chance of losing.
Link let out a tired laugh.
Was this actually a fear?
AAAAH HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE THE LAST TIME!? :nuu:
Forgive me, I'm so damn lazy...
