Fast footsteps were heard behind the door of Link's room in the Skyloft's Knight Academy. The door opened suddenly and a familiar shout woke Link up.
"Link! Wake up you sleepyhead!!" Zelda screamed and Link fell down on the floor. He stumbled on his feet and mumbled something. Then he rose his sight to see the excited girl by his door. Seemed like she had something important to say.
"Link! This is amazing!" The girl continued. "Outside! There's-..." Zelda gave Link a weird look. "You slept with those clothes on, again?"
Link looked at his clothes and realized those were actually the clothes he usually used during the day. He coughed and blushed a little.
"Doesn't matter..." he mumbled and yawned. "What is so amazing?"
Zelda clapped her hands when she remembered her news again.
"Oh, right! It's difficult to explain, you must come out and see it yourself!" She informed and grabbed Link's hand. "C'mon!" The boy almost stumbled when Zelda started to run, but managed to stay on his feet. Zelda was clearly very excited, but also confused. What was this? Link had no idea, but he guessed he's get the answer as soon as they'd get outside the academy.
As soon as the outdoor opened Link's jaw dropped. He gasped a loud and rubbed his eyes just make sure he wasn't asleep.
There was nothing outside. Nothing. At least it seemed like it. Everything seemed to be covered with something pure white and cold. The girl and the boy realized, that every resident of Skyloft were outside. Though, who would have stayed inside, when there was raining something from the sky they had never seen before?
"I say..." The Headmaster of the Knight Academy and Zelda's father Gaepora appeared behind the youngsters. "This is quite unordinary."
"What in the world is this?" Zelda asked from his father, who had quite much knowledge after reading so much books. Link kneeled down and grabbed a little bit of that white stuff in his hands. It was soft and very cold, but it turned into water as soon as it touched Link's warm skin. The boy let out a sneeze and stood up.
Gaepora scratched his head and mumbled something no one was able to heard. Everyone had turned their sight at the Headmaster. They wanted to hear an answer.
"I wonder..." Geapora mumbled after thinking a while."If it's snow..."
"Snow?" Link opened his mouth. He was very curious about this thing he had never seen before and wanted to know as much about it as possible. Gaepora nodded.
"My books about the Surface tell about it a little. It's..." the man tried to make up a way to explain it, so everyone could understand. "It's water, actually. But it has to be a cold weather, so it can turn into snow. But we never have that cold weather in Skyloft..."
"Then, where did it come from?" Zelda asked and tilted her head a little. Her father only shrugged.
"It should come down from the clouds, but we're above them... That's why I don't understand this."
Link rose his sight up to figure out where was that snow coming from, but saw nothing. Seemed like it was coming out of thin air! Link's pointed ear twitched when he heard Kukiel and the other children of Skyloft laughing. They were playing in the snow.
"You know what I think this is?" Zelda asked and Link turned his sight at her. "I think this is a gift from the goddess."
"Could be..." Link nodded. That made sense tom him, since he was not able to make up any other explanation.
Link sneezed again. He felt the cold shivers going down his spine.
"You're catching a cold already, aren't you?" Zelda laughed. Her breath was only a puff of smoke in the air.
"Well, it's pretty cold here", Gaepora pointed out. "I'd suggest you two to put on something warm..." The Headmaster laughed a little. "But seems like you don't need any kind of gloves, though." The youngsters gave the man a wondering look and blushed both, when they realized they were still holding their hands. Zelda freed Link's hand and looked away for a while.
"Father's right..." She muttered. "We'd better put on something warm. See you later!" the girl said and went inside the Academy leaving Link behind, who realized to get in after he had sneezed once again.

As soon as Link had opened his cupboard he had realized there was actually no warm clothes in there. Why would there be? They never needed warm clothes in Skyloft. The Sun was always shining, since this island was really floating above the clouds.
Since there was nothing else to do Link put on two shirts at the same time. It felt weird, but as said, he really couldn't make anything else up.
Link was ready already, but he just didn't dare to go ask if Zelda was, too. Link knew it was ridiculous, but only thinking about what had happened out there made him blush. The boy kicked himself in his mind. You coward! Who feels that uneasy with his good friend?
Someone knocked the door and woke Link from his thoughts. The boy guessed already who was it.
"You'd better be ready, 'cause I'm coming in now!" Yep. That voice was definitely Zelda's. She came in in her ordinary pink dress, but Link bet she has a shirt under that or something. Link stood up, so they would go, but sat down as Zelda spoke.
"Ah, I'm just saying I have no time right now..." she told, and Link wondered what in the world had Zelda to do, but didn't ask. "But I'll come to get you as soon as I'm ready. Then we could go flying around together... Okay?" Link nodded for an answer and smiled. "Nice!" Zelda giggled. "See you later!" And then she was gone.
But as soon as the girl disappeared someone else came in. Someone Link would be delighted to not see. Link sighed.
"What do you want, Groose?"
The red haired bully had crossed his arms and looked down on Link like he'd be some kind of scum.
"I heard everything!" He snorted. "You were flirting with Zelda, again!"
"Huh? I didn't even say anything!" Link pointed out. "Besides there's nothing going between me and her."
"Indeed not, 'cause Zelda doesn't like you, obviously!" Groose growled and smirked. "She likes me!" Link rolled his eyes, 'cause he didn't want to argue. He knew Groose would never give up and Link wanted him out as soon as possible. He was so tired with him.
"Was that all?" Link sighed and stood up. "Because I have something else to do..."
"Bet ya do, you little coward!" Groose laughed. "Stay here hiding when I'll go ask Zelda out. I can see us flying around Skyloft already..." Link saw the guy giggling like a little girl when he walked out for his relief.
What was with Groose? He was talking things like that all the time, even there really was nothing between Link and Zelda... Right? They were just friends. Very good friends.

Link had spent many hours reading something, though, he was not focusing, really, when Zelda came in. She had a little bag and a blue scarf around her neck that Link had never seen before. The color of it matched Zelda's eyes perfectly.
"Sorry it took so long", she apologized and smiled. She looked over Link's shoulder to see what was he reading. "Interesting book, eh?" Link stood up and smirked.
"Not really."
"That's what I thought. You're more like action type that reading type", Zelda laughed and looked out the window. It was till raining snow out of thin air. "Ready to go now?"
After a couple of minutes Zelda had jumped down and was whistling for her loftwing to appear Link after her. The huge birds came almost immediately. Their speed would still after so many years amaze Link.
Even it was so cold the loftwings seemed to be very fine with the weather. When Link grabbed some feathers of his crimson loftwing to stay on he's back he noticed the bird actually got more of them. Or was it just him?
Zelda flied to Link's side with her blue loftwing. She was smiling very cheerfully. There was some snow in her long, blonde hair. It made the hair glitter magically in the sunlight. The girl looked even more beautiful than usually.
"What are you looking at?" Zelda asked just when Link realized he was actually staring at her. The boy turned his sight away, but Zelda could see he had blushed again.
"Nothing..."
"Can you imagine Groose came to ask me out a little while ago?" Zelda asked.
"Really?" Link asked, even that was pretty clear for him. Of course Groose had done that!
"Aha!" The girl nodded and suddenly landed down on a single island. Link remembered a visit here. This island used to have some flowers and a little pond, but it was all covered with snow now.
"Why did we land?" Link asked after landing himself. Zelda had opened her bag and was looking for something for sure.
"I have something for you..." She mumbled and took out something from her bag. "Close your eyes!"
Link did as Zelda asked, and the next time he opened his blue eyes he could see a green scarf around his neck. Link looked at it with a surprised look. That was very fine scarf. Had Zelda done it herself?
"Do you like it?" Zelda asked and got a usual answer: a nod.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome! I made it myself!" The girl bragged and came a little closer to Link. "I knew green would suit you! Can't wait to see that green senior suit on you..." Green. Was it the color of the suit this year?
"You know what?" Zelda asked and made the boy rose his another eyebrow."I heard Groose called me as "His girl"..." Link said nothing, since that wasn't really a news. Groose did that all the time when he thought Zelda was nowhere around to hear him. "I don't know what is he thinking..." Zelda sighed. "I'm not his girl..." She leaned a little bit closer and gave Link a little kiss on his cheek, which instantly turned red. "I'm your Zelda."
Link said nothing. He didn't talk much either way, but now he was simply too embarrassed to let out a single word out of his mouth. Zelda started to laugh very happily.
"C'mon, you silly!" she smirked and got onto her bird again. "We have still about a half island to go!"

The next morning when Link looked out the window all the snow was gone. He guessed even the weather was all the same as usually. He wasn't quite should he be happy or not. He had liked the snow. Some change to this always sunny and warm weather.
Now to think of it, had there really been anything like snow? It sounded ridiculous... It was not possible. Link guessed he had been sleeping. t was just a weird dream.... A really weird one. But when he opened the cupboard and saw the green scarf there, he new it all had been true.
Early Christmas story for you! :la: I upload my Christmas things today, 'cause tomorrow, as you may guess, I really don't have time :XD: Haha!
You remember the part in Skyward Sword Zelda tells Link "I'm still your Zelda"? Well, that's so beautiful line I used it a little bit here too. Heheh :meow:

... Wish we'd have snow too... -__-
